The company is headquartered at the University of Maryland BioPark, positioning it at the intersection of two of the region’s most dynamic innovation communities: the quantum research ecosystem anchored at the University of Maryland, College Park, and the life sciences and biotech network thriving within the BioPark.

The event brought together leaders from healthcare, academia, and industry to explore how quantum technologies can advance medicine and shape the future of patient care. gSpin Technologies participated as part of this growing conversation around the translation of advanced physics into practical clinical tools.

gSpin Technologies is focused on developing a quantum sensing platform that applies to a broad range of magnetic resonance instruments. Rather than a single-use solution, the company’s technology is designed as a platform with the potential to enhance the performance of most existing magnetic resonance modalities, opening new diagnostic and therapeutic possibilities across clinical and research settings. By harnessing the principles of magnetic resonance at the quantum level, gSpin aims to create new approaches for measuring biological and metabolic information with speed, precision, and patient comfort.

Since the conference, gSpin has continued to engage with multiple Mayo Clinic clinicians, reflecting a growing and substantive interest in the company’s quantum sensing platform across the clinical community. That broader engagement has also opened conversations with clinicians in other settings, surfacing specific applications for the technology. In proton beam cancer treatment, for example, a clinician identified a concrete unmet need: the ability to simultaneously obtain imaging and spectroscopic data during a therapy session, in real time, without interrupting treatment. gSpin’s quantum-enabled RF coil is designed to address precisely this, functioning as a dual-use instrument that delivers both imaging and spectroscopic information from a single device, potentially giving care teams an unprecedented window into tissue response as treatment is being delivered.

Beyond its MRI RF coil platform, gSpin Technologies is also developing a fully contactless blood testing device, an instrument that would allow clinicians to obtain blood panel data without a needle draw or physical contact with the patient. Enabled by the same advanced quantum sensing protocols underpinning the company’s core technology, this instrument is already entering instrument validation this summer, marking a significant step toward bringing a new category of non-invasive diagnostics to market.
