gSpin Technologies is engaged in developing quantum sensing based medical diagnostic technologies by directly enhancing, by many orders of magnitude, the intrinsic signals generated by molecules at the cellular level. The company has developed a novel and unique approach to quantum sensing that works by increasing the signal-detector coupling and turning existing sensors into quantum sensors upon applying gSpin’s proprietary quantum controls. This contrasts with present day quantum sensors that work at the atomic level and are limited by their detection range which are typically on the micron to millimeter scale.
In addition to increasing the signal-detector coupling, gSpin has also developed a novel quantum algorithm that further increases the SNR of MRI based diagnostic modalities. The algorithm boosts the hydrogen nuclei being imaged and increases the inherently weak signals by a factor of 10 or more that together with the quantum enhanced detection results in an overall SNR increase of x20-100.
gSpin has filed several patents and continues to file additional patents protecting its technologies. In the past year, the team at gSpin has developed a novel MRI quantum enhanced rf coil used in the detection process of these scanners. In addition to bench testing and proving the concept, several different versions have been fully built and tested on MRI scanners.
